About this notice

This notice explains how we collect and use your personal information when you visit or buy from shop.empowered-coaching.today, or subscribe to our updates. It applies to the shop only. Our counselling and coaching services have their own privacy notice.

Who we are

Empowered Coaching and Consultancy Limited is the data controller for the personal information described here. This means we decide how and why it's used.

Company number: 17284121

Registered office: First Floor, 1 Des Roches Square, Witan Way, Witney, OX28 4BE

ICO registration: ZB703605

Contact for privacy questions: contact@empowered-coaching.today

What we collect

When you buy: your email address, your name if you give it, and order details (what you bought, the price, the date, your country, and the payment method used).

At checkout: your answers to checkout questions, including your confirmation about the right to cancel.

When you contact us: anything you include in emails or messages to us.

When you subscribe to updates: your email address.

Only if you accept analytics cookies: how you use the shop, such as pages visited and the type of device used.

We don't receive or store your full card details. These go directly to Stripe or PayPal.

We don't ask for health information. Please don't send us details about your health or personal circumstances when you contact us about an order. If you do, we'll only use them to answer your message.

How and why we use it

Data protection law requires us to have a lawful reason for each use of your information.

Processing your order, delivering your workbook and sending your confirmation: to perform our contract with you.

Helping with download problems, faults and refunds: to perform our contract with you.

Keeping a record of your agreement to immediate download: our legitimate interest in showing we've met consumer law.

Keeping financial and tax records: legal obligation.

Answering your questions and complaints: our legitimate interest in responding to customers.

Sending updates about new workbooks: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Understanding how the shop is used, so we can improve it: your consent, given through the cookie banner.

Preventing fraud and protecting our copyright: our legitimate interest in protecting our business.

We don't use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we don't build profiles about you.

Updates by email

We only send updates if you've subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to be removed. Buying a workbook doesn't automatically sign you up.

Cookies

The shop uses essential cookies so it works properly, for example to keep items in your basket. With your permission, it also uses analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the shop. When you first visit, you can accept or reject analytics cookies. If you reject them, the shop still works normally.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with providers who help us run the shop, and only as much as they need:

Payhip: runs the shop, checkout, downloads and VAT calculation.

Stripe: processes card payments.

PayPal: processes PayPal payments.

MailerLite: sends our email updates to subscribers.

Our email provider: hosts our business email, so we can reply to you.

Our accountants: prepare our accounts and tax returns.

Payhip, Stripe and PayPal also use some information under their own privacy policies, for example to prevent fraud and meet their legal duties.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights. We never sell your personal information.

Information sent outside the UK

Some of our providers store or process information outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. When this happens, it's protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or approved contract terms. You can ask us for more details.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records, including your agreement to immediate download: six years after the end of the financial year of purchase, to meet tax and accounting rules.

Emails and messages: up to two years after we last hear from you, unless they relate to a complaint or legal claim.

Mailing list details: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only your email address on a suppression list, so we don't email you again.

Analytics data: as set by Payhip's analytics tools.

Keeping it secure

We use well-established providers with strong security, and we protect our accounts with two-step authentication. Only Emma Redman has access to customer information. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will act quickly if anything goes wrong.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that's wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to limit how we use it
  • object to us using it for our legitimate interests
  • ask us to move it to another organisation
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing

Some rights have exceptions. For example, we must keep order records for tax purposes even if you ask us to delete them.

To use any of these rights, email contact@empowered-coaching.today. We'll reply within one month. If your request is complex, we may need up to two more months, and we'll tell you if so. There's usually no charge.

Children

The shop and workbooks are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this notice

We'll update this notice when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
